Using Blocks Created by Others
« on: January 14, 2014, 06:09:29 pm »
Hello,
I have a question regarding blocks that were created by others. I found some online that I would like to use and import into my drawings. (Namely people, plants, and different types of generic furnishings.)  I use AutoCAD 2014, and am able to open up the drawing into AutoCAD. I generally will have open both drawings and copy the file from one to place into the next. My question is how can I resize these? Am I able to, or do I need to recreate the block myself?

Shell,
You should be able to resize the blocks by scaling them. Without seeing the drawing, I will say that you may have to explode the block, make it the correct size (using the scale command), and then you will want to recreate the block (you should rename it).
I hope that helps. If you need more information or that does not work, please repost and include an example and drawing.
Thanks!
Nina
