Drawing in Layers or Adding After the Fact?
« on: April 24, 2015, 08:48:08 am »
From what I was taught in my first AutoCAD course, we drew our plan then added the elements into the layers after they were already drawn. I am a previous Photography student and am in the habit of doing tasks in the layers, not moving them over. Is there any reason why we would add the elements after they were already drawn? How does everyone prefer to do it? Pros and Cons?

I prefer to draw the elements right on the correct layers.  Oftentimes the basic drawing tools are introduced first in a beginning AutoCAD class, and layers are added later, thus the drawing first and then moving them.  I think it is far more efficient to just draw them right on the correct layers to start with.
