XREF not found in DWG
« on: January 22, 2017, 12:45:00 am »
Hello,

I attached an XREF to a DWG and have continued to work with the file many times over again. However, when opening the file to continue working, the XREF (which was a floor plan) is now showing as only the title of the document within the DWG. The floor plan/XREF is gone. How do I attach the same XREF to the DWG file again?

To reload an xref, go to the INSERT tab, look for the REFERENCE area, and click on the small arrow at the bottom right side, or you can type in XREF at the command line.  This will open the File References and show all of the drawings that are referenced.  right click on the one that is missing, and highlight the drawing that is missing.  You can either then right click it, detach it, then reattach it as you would a new reference.  Or, you can look at the details panel below and find the path.  If you double click on the drawing path, you get the three dots to the right that allows to to browse to the drawing and fix the path.  Hopefully that helps!
