Combining DWG files

Can DWG files in AutoCAD be combined? If so, how can this be done. If not, can I copy and paste a DWG image from one model space into another?

Copying and pasting is the most straightforward way to combine drawings, just make sure you have all of the layers on that you need, and you can also define a base point for the copy and determine exactly where that is placed in the combined drawing.  Right click in the drawing, select clipboard, select copy or copy with base point.  Select a base point if you decide to use that option, then select your items to copy.  Go into the other drawing, right click, select clipboard, select paste, or paste to original coordinates.  The other way you can bring one drawing into another is to use the xref option, which places the drawing as an underlay.
