Markers in Photoshop?
« on: January 12, 2013, 04:50:05 pm »
In many of Dr. Paricio's tutorial I see that he uses markers in what I am assuming is Photoshop.  Are the markers something that need to be downloaded or are they just a custom brush size with a low opacity setting?  I am trying to spot render a drawing for a class and using the paint bucket just doesn't do my perspective drawing justice.

Yes, you are correct,  I use Photoshop for my renderings, but I have a brush tool that replicates what we can do with Prismacolor markers; I also use a wacom bamboo tablet, as otherwise it is very had to render with my mouse. If you want to see how I do it, see this video, http://screencast.com/t/Y0ETpUdeq3Y

Dr. Paricio,

Thank you very much for that tutorial it was very helpful.  All of your tutorials are amazing!  Could an iPad be used for this type of work?  I have a laptop and its really hard to render with the little touch pad.

I think there are applications that you can use for an Ipad that will let you draw, but I am not sure of the quality of the software or the results you can get. I have heard from another professor that there are some available. Regarding the videos that I do, I am glad you like them. Did you know of this website that I maintain as well? I have also some other interesting videos there, www.renderinginteriors.com

Take a look at what this artist does with his Ipad, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OerxZub90Sg
This seems to be a good App, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/paperless-draw-paint-sketch./id533246997?mt=8
And finally, this is the Jot Flip, what seems to be necessary to draw with, http://www.amazon.com/Adonit-Stylus-iPhone-Kindle-Tablets/dp/B007GJNSVG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358164407&sr=8-1&keywords=jot+flip

Best luck drawing!
