Background for Studio Photography
« on: May 28, 2015, 07:12:59 pm »
I start Studio Photography on Monday June 1.  I have everything on the list except a black paper background.
I do have a huge (5'x7') black seamless background that hangs on a frame.  Is that good enough for the class?

Hi Jan,

Seamless paper really lends itself to smooth, wrinkle free backgrounds. (Tip:  always roll it back up when not in use as humility can cause it to wrinkle and buckle if left hanging too long.)  It sounds like the black seamless you have should work just fine.  If it is made from fabric such as muslin, you will just want to assure you get all the wrinkles out with something like a steamer when you hang it.  If you have a steamer for cleaning such as a Shark Steam Cleaner, you may be able to use that to remove the wrinkles.
