Request for proofreading per professor in ENGLISH 1010 UG

Following is a short essay that my professor has suggested I submit for proofreading. Any assistance would be great! Thx in advance!

Graphic Design is a field of employment that is broad and full of jobs with no shortage in sight. As a student in the field, I was concerned as to whether I would be able to find employment upon graduation. The thing about graphic design is that there are many different aspects to the field that the possibilities are almost limitless. With specialties such as print media, typography, packaging, branding, web design it is easy to find a specialization that you excel in. Depending on whom you ask you will get proponents for specialization and supporters of being a Jack of All trades. I agree with the statement that “graphic design isn't about doing one job. It's about doing a dozen of them. The more you know, encounter, utilize, and apply, the more you are worth. If it is a spice of life, it can sure spice up the design.” (Labdovic & Vulkusic) but  it is common knowledge that a specialist gets paid more but deals with issues like downturns in that area of specialty and boredom in doing the same thing for a long time. The best solution seems to be to do both, specialize in various areas (you are not limited to one) but be a well versed generalist.

“Employment of graphic designers is projected to increase by 13 percent from 2010 to 2020, about as fast as the average for all occupations. High job turnover should result in numerous openings. However, competition for senior graphic designer positions will be very strong.” (BLS.gov) meaning that there should not be any shortage of jobs when I get to job market. While in the early years of getting my degree I should be working on my proficiency as a generalist then determine what areas of interest to specialize in during my upper class years. With a 4 year degree the “median pay wass $43,500in 2010” (BLS.gov) with an “expected 37,300 jobs expected by 2020” (BLS.gov). Of course, these numbers vary by many conditions, “ including Years of Experience and the Type of Employer they work for” (Payscale.com, Job Description).  The range can be from “$24,137 with less than 1 year experience to as much as $76,338 with over 20 years of experience” (PayScale.com, Average Salary). Clearly, this should not be a major worry for me. The concern should be placed on what to specialize in and in making sure that my generalist skills are excellent.
